Our Mission

We connect Coaches to Athletes.  Anytime, anywhere.

We define the symbiotic roles of “coach” and “athlete” in a broad and inclusive fashion. Not just Olympians, the starting varsity line-up, CrossFitters, or those with strength and conditioning credentials.

Rather, if someone has a performance goal, wants the advantage of training with an expert coach (whether in real time or virtually), is seeking a structured program and wants to receive immediate feedback, then they are an athlete we want to serve.

If someone wants to help the above athlete reach their goal, either in a remote or real time relationship, then they are a coach.  Again, all levels of expertise and experience included.

Ben Crookston

CEO/Founder

Ben Crookston is the Founder and CEO of Train Heroic. Prior to finding his home in the tech world, Ben ordered the Sampler off the career menu, teaching, coaching, and writing. He has an incredible family, and back squats 500 pounds A2G.

When not training Heroic, Ben enjoys cooking, hiking, and AMRAPing premium television. He is a lucky dude that cherishes the privilege of providing coaches and athletes of all levels the tools they need to win in the gym.

Dylan Cone

Senior Software Engineer

Dylan has been building web pages since before the dotcom craze of the late-90s. He’s the quintessential ENFP who’s not afraid to take the deep dive into things, which at times can border on obsession. This enthusiasum for life-experience has led him through going couch to Ironman, getting a black belt in Shutokan Karate, and becoming a family man. He brings that same enthusiasm and quest for improvement to the code that makes TrainHeroic software tick. When not behind the keyboard you can find him at a local brewery, behind a drum kit, or two planking in the mountains.

Our Values as Heroes

Aligned with our customers

Heroes provide insanely good service. We leave things better than we found them. We are a coach-centric company that has tech and NOT a tech-centric company that has coaches.

Authentic to ourselves

We walk the talk: We ARE TrainHeroic. We do push-ups to boost daily productivity and awesomeness. Passion trumps process.

Accountable to each other

Autonomy is a group effort. We stay at the office until night sometimes, but we have fun along the way. We set BIG goals and work tirelessly as a team to accomplish them. As heroes, we think exponentially and not incrementally.

Agile in our thinking

We try very hard to find new ways to solve old problems. We refuse to accept the status quo. We are exploring and adopting agile methodology for all business functions.

Aggressive in our approach

Heroes never leave 'well enough' alone: We always poke the bear. When Heroes come to a fork in the road, we go straight. We are committed to Quality, Innovation, Creativity, and we push boundaries in our pursuit of helping Coaches and Athletes "win in the gym."
